If not now, when?

"Someday, you said you'd do it yesterday; Yesterday, you said you'll do it today. Today, if you push it to tomorrow, it's likely tomorrow, you'll shift it to "Someday"! Do it now!”

I'm a huge advocate and practitioner of living a good life and prioritising self care - i.e. comfort and fun. But, I also know the costs are significant if not tempered with some level of discipline and a willingness to head into uncomfortable territory on a regular basis.

I hear you -  when life is flat out, and you're stretched in a million different directions, overwhelm can creep in. Some things just need to be parked for a moment to deal with the challenge at hand.

However,  when we habitually engage in this thinking and allow it to stop us doing the 'work', or as Seth Godin calls it 'the practice',  we miss out on creating the thing we are meant to be doing. Or when we keep on choosing the shiny, fun thing instead, we are engaging in a form of resistance.

What is it going to take, to carve out the time required to have a go and get serious about trying? You tell yourself that such and such must be done - but how true is this? Or is it time to let that idea go? Because if you REALLY did want to do it, you'd be somehow making it happen.

Perhaps what we thought we once wanted has now changed? The relevance of a once highly prioritised aspiration is no longer as meaningful.

Maybe it's time for a rethink? To assess what has changed and what is inspiring you now to help you live without regret?

With the old - 'life is short' , 'we only get this one go', what do you want to look back on in 5 or 10 years and be able to say that you're glad you had a go at.....?

It's time to work around avoidance, procrastinating and fear. For the freedom and deep satisfaction in the long run, will far out weigh the short term discomfort of not knowing.

What do you need to let go of in order to allocate 10 mins a day to something?

What needs to change to enable you to move through the resistance?

What painful thing needs to be dealt with first so that you can move forward?

What is the very first tiny step required to get you started or moving again? One tiny step after another is how anything is done.

Always reminding ourselves -
