Life Coaching to support mental health

What needs to be taken care of?

'Having compassion starts and ends with having compassion for all those unwanted parts of ourselves, all those imperfections that we don't even want to look at. '               Pema Chodron
Last week marked World Mental Health Awareness Day on the calendar - considering nobody has been left unaffected by the global health crisis. I thought it was important to take a moment to acknowledge.  As many of us continue to navigate the uncertainties of living and transitioning into a post pandemic world. I wanted to continue the conversation around mental health and self care. Sometimes it's just not that simple to create the life we want when we find ourselves or somebody close to us not running on all cylinders.

Perhaps you haven't been running at all or have found it difficult to stop going in circles. If this has been the case, you definitely are not alone.

As a small offering of support to use alongside any work you are doing with health professionals and the like. I've put together some self coaching questions to assist you to find clarity and identify some small steps that will help you prioritise yourself. Taking some time to honestly answer these questions may help you to finally make that appointment, uncomfortable phone call, or work towards removing an obligation that you resent.....

Taking 5

Anyone that knows me is aware that this is not a typical scenario! I'm not particularly good at relaxing and switching off. Hence, the presence of yoga in my life for the past 25 years or so.... I mention this as I recall the moment I had to consciously override my compulsion to 'do' something. I've no idea what I thought I was going to do but I do remember it being a glorious afternoon that I actually switched off and even had a nap. Point being ... sometimes we have to battle our habitual thoughts to look after ourselves.
